Following the success of five-star show ‘If Walls Could Talk’ at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011, True Tales is a spin-off collaboration between Collision Theory and inner-i (resident duo at El Bareto) which sees a charming blend of storytelling and live music presented in communities across West Yorkshire.
True Tales is, in essence, a collection of true stories, told by the people who’ve lived them.
Placed in a theatrical setting, these are the stories that we tell every day; the stories that come about through simply living; the stories that make us human…
Some hilariously funny or heartbreakingly poignant, others agonisingly shameful or epically romantic; all utterly compelling. Encased in live music and punctuated with moments of improvisation, prepare to be left captivated by the true stories of real people. Perhaps, the power of a story lies in the simplicity of its telling?
“I laughed, I cried and I spent hours wondering how something so simple could be so powerful.” Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Festival Fringe
